For those who visit the South island of New Zealand, the Paparoa National Park located on the west of the island merits a visit. Established on the 1st of January 1987 and governed by the Department of Conservation, this national park extends from the Western coastline to the Paparoa Ranges encompassing approximately three hundred and sixty square kilometres. The geology and diverse terrain of the park makes it an extremely scenic location to visit and enjoy as there are mountainous regions, a coastal area and is even home to a limestone karst area.
