Different Trips Need Different Bases
Think about it. A couple on a wellness retreat wants something completely different from a family on their first big adventure. This is exactly why hospitality groups like Minor Hotels have grown to include such varied brands under one roof, from barefoot-luxury beach resorts to sleek city stays. Smart travellers now pick their base according to the trip's personality, not just the destination. The hotel is part of the experience now, not just a place to sleep.
Loyalty Matters More Than Ever
With travel costs creeping up, frequent flyers are sticking with names they trust. Many hotel chains have seriously upgraded their loyalty programmes in 2026, like room upgrades, flexible late checkouts, and experiences money can't buy. If you travel more than twice a year, aligning with one or two chains can genuinely change how your trips feel. Free breakfast and a surprise spa credit? Yes, please.
Workations Need Real Infrastructure
Remote work is no longer a trend; it's a lifestyle. Travellers booking "workations" now demand proper desks, fast Wi-Fi, and co-working spaces that don't feel like an afterthought. Hotels have responded with work-friendly packages such as discounted long stays, laundry services, and even Zoom-call-proof corners in rooms. If your laptop travels with you, check the Wi-Fi speed reviews before you book.
Sustainability Is a Green Flag
Eco-conscious travellers are voting with their wallets in 2026. Solar-powered resorts, zero-plastic policies, and genuine community partnerships are deciding factors. Hotels that walk the talk are winning loyal guests.
