A family holiday in the Maldives calls for lightweight clothing, reliable sun protection and a few practical extras for children and teenagers. Thoughtful packing also makes flights, transfers and beach days easier to manage.
Pack for Beach Days
There are many great resorts, and Naladhu Private Island Maldives, among them, provides a private island setting where families can spend plenty of time around the beach and water. A beach house Maldives stay calls for several swimsuits, rash guards, lightweight cover-ups, sandals and water-friendly footwear.
Prepare for Tropical Sun
Pack high-SPF sunscreen, sunglasses and secure sun hats for every family member. Aloe vera, insect repellent and after-bite cream make a small sun and outdoor-care kit which can be useful for the whole family.
Build a Family Health Kit
Keep essential medicines, prescriptions and basic first-aid supplies together and accessible throughout the journey. Plasters, antiseptic wipes, a thermometer, familiar toiletries and any products needed by younger children can help families handle small problems without searching for supplies.
Keep Kids and Teens Entertained
Books, colouring materials, journals, compact games and waterproof cards can provide entertainment during flights, rainy periods and quieter evenings. Teenagers may also appreciate headphones, an e-reader, a tablet, a waterproof phone pouch or a compact camera for documenting their island adventures. Keep important medicines, snacks, wipes, spare clothing and travel documents in hand luggage, especially when travelling with younger children.
