The History of Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi developed thoroughly under the rule of Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa through the trading of pearls. The location of the emirate was seen as a great location, connecting it to the east and India, thus, it was established as the Trucial Coast. Sheikh Zayed was known as the ‘Father of the Nation’, mainly due to his vast contributions in developing the city of Abu Dhabi.
