Bali is full of experiences, but first-time visitors can easily get overwhelmed. This simple week-long plan covers the highlights without feeling rushed.
Start with Two Days in Ubud
Begin your trip in Ubud, Bali’s cultural heart. Visit the Sacred Monkey Forest and Tegalalang Rice Terrace, and try a cooking class. This is also where you’ll find many healing practices in Bali, including sound baths, herbal walks, and yoga sessions. Ubud is home to a variety of stays, including options from well-known chains like Anantara Hotels & Resorts, which blend comfort with a strong connection to the island’s natural and cultural rhythms.
Head to the Coast: Seminyak and Canggu
Spend the next two days by the beach. Seminyak offers trendy cafés, boutique shopping, and sunset bars. Canggu is a short drive away and great for surfing or just watching the waves with a coconut in hand.
Explore the Southern Peninsula
For the next two days, head south to Uluwatu. Visit the cliffside Uluwatu Temple and catch a Kecak fire dance at sunset. The beaches here, like Padang Padang and Dreamland, are quieter and known for their dramatic views.

Finish with a Day of Relaxation
Before heading home, enjoy a slow final day. Book a massage, stroll through a local market, or have a beachside dinner. If you fly out late, many hotels offer late checkout or spa facilities for freshening up.
