There are lots of tourists in Chiang Mai, even more so than Myanmar and two of the main reasons for this is because it is relatively cheaper and more developed. Food is much cheaper and quite delicious even so, as is accommodation be it in a Chiang Mai hotel or an Airbnb.
Seen It All
People in Thailand have seen so many tourists they are no longer a novelty. So, for the most parts, the locals will leave you alone, though that is wonderful it’s not always good if you are looking to making friends it might be a bit of a hindrance. But you could always put yourself out there and try.
