The best season
Choose the start of the year to visit Horton Plains National Park (January – March). Other seasons will also be fine, but your views can often get interrupted with mist and unpredictable rainfall.
Reaching Horton Plains
If you are holidaying at one of the luxury holiday bungalows in Nuwara Eliya the likes of Scottish Planter, you can visit Horton Plains by a tuk-tuk. If you are coming from Colombo, you can either come by train, bus or by air and then get on to a tuk-tuk.
