Overview
Less than 20 minutes from Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort and within close vicinity to other Chiang Saen hotels, Wat Pa Sak dates back to the 13th century. This temple is found in Chaing Saen District, Chiang Rai Province in Thailand.
History
The exact date this monument was founded is unclear, ranging from possible dates between 1295 to the 1340s. Over the course of the years, the temple has gone through a number of different renovations and restorations. In the 15 century, Lan Na rulers even further enhanced the temple. These reasons are why it’s difficult to pinpoint a proper date of establishment.
Architecture
This temple mainly showcases classic Lan Na style but also includes styles such as Bagan, Hariphunchai, and Sukhothai. The only best preserve part of the temple is a stupa that stands at 12.5 metres tall.
