Of course, by vehicle, it takes only a matter of minutes to reach the viewpoint. Either way, do remember to dress for cold weather and blustery winds!
Situated around 1,400metres above sea level, this viewpoint which was named after the Poonagalla Group’s first manager, Sir George Pilkington, provides some of the most spellbinding vistas of the region. Misty mountains and enchanting valleys will fill your view, while on a clear day, you may even see up to the south coast.
If you crave more adventure, continue your ascent up to Millennium Point. This viewpoint can be reached by foot (around 45 minutes) and since it’s at a higher elevation than Pilkington Point you can expect an even better vantage point. Do be mindful of wildlife and if you see animals like elephants avoid engaging with them.
