What to Expect
Located in Queenstown, just a 7-minute walk from Park Hotel Alexandra, this dining hub is a hawker centre with over 80 stalls offering an eclectic array of dishes. Keep in mind that you may find long queues too but that’s usually an indication of how popular a stall is and the quality of its food!
Laksa, Seafood Soup & Bak Chor Mee
Those visiting from nearby 4-star hotels in Singapore looking to sample creamy and thick laksa should head to Depot Road Zhen Shan Mei Laksa (#01-75); keep in mind this dish is spicy! At Shen Ji Seafood Soup (#01-22), you can order soup with various seafood options, while the bak chor mee (minced meat noodles) at Lian Kee (#01-50) is worth trying too.
Biryani, Xiaolongbao & Satay
For yummy chicken curry biryani, head to Haji K. Abdul Rehuman Muslim Food (#01-76) which also serves dishes like mee goreng. A type of Chinese steamed bun with pork, Xiaolongbao is served at Shanghai La Mian Xiao Long Bao (#01-56), while at Old Punggol Satay (#01-52), you can savour delicious satay with mutton, pork and chicken options.

Those with a sweet tooth should visit GreenGrass Garden (Grass Jelly) (#01-73); on the menu are traditional desserts such as bean curd (chilled or hot) with grass jelly, as well as, matcha milk tea with pearls. For something different, try the refreshing avocado shakes at King Avocado (#01-17) with the option of adding chocolate syrup too!
