Gem road is an extremely popular strip of road in Chanthaburi that is often crowded. About 120 shops line the road here. The gem markets are open from 10 am to 3 pm from Friday to Sunday. Most of the trading takes place on Saturday as one will be able to find the best deals for some quality stones.

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Chanthaburi is separated from the waterfront by a small foot bridge. Its Gothic style architecture makes it an unusual ornament among the Asian architecture seen in the town. Nevertheless, it is the largest and most beautiful cathedral in Thailand.

Chanthaburi might not be the first place that pops into your mind when thinking of beaches in Thailand. Still, the beaches here are pretty decent to soak up some rays and let your feet touch the water.
